Meals on Wheels Fort Collins invites you to join us for Let’s Do Lunch 2026, our annual community luncheon focused on one simple truth: a meal is never just a meal.

In Larimer County, too many older adults and adults with disabilities are living on fixed incomes that do not stretch far enough. Rent increases. Prescription costs climb. Groceries cost more than they did last year. For many of our neighbors, it comes down to an impossible choice between food, medication, and housing.

For someone managing mobility challenges, chronic health conditions, or a disability, access to a reliable daily meal can determine whether they remain safely at home or face a health crisis that leads to hospitalization or long-term care.

That is what this event is about.

What You’ll Experience

Let’s Do Lunch is not a formal gala. It is a working lunch with a clear purpose.

You will:

  • Hear from clients about what daily meal delivery and wellness checks mean in real life.

  • Listen to volunteers and staff who see firsthand how consistent support keeps people stable.

  • Learn how local dollars translate into meals delivered, safety checks completed, and crises prevented.

You will also enjoy lunch and connect with others in the community who believe practical solutions matter.

Why It Matters

Meals on Wheels does more than deliver food. Each visit includes a wellness check. For some clients, that volunteer may be the only person they see that day. If something is wrong, someone notices.

That daily contact keeps neighbors nourished, safe, and independent in their own homes.

When we talk about “aging in place,” this is what makes it possible.
